With his visit to the new vegan restaurant in Falls Church, Jesse is one up on his dad.

 

Jesse got his first ear infection, and when not zonked out from the fever, he was pretty cheerful

Jesse’s got a new wetsuit, which should help with the chill at the pool. On a previous visit, we even tried a hoodie to keep him warm.

Jesse’s favorite holiday is “Han-Kah” — the number of presents he scored may have something to do with that.

He really digs his new “back-yoom.”

The set of fruits and vegetables with sorting baskets from Grandma Michelle was a big hit.

The kitchen I found at Goodwill ($11.75 after 25% off!) anchors the family room now, so he can use the “SEEnk” to wash his pretend pots and dishes.

Jesse and I headed west to San Diego to see Dad and Pam the same week Dan was going to Las Vegas.

While it rained pretty much our whole visit, the trip to the airport was sunny, so we stopped in La Jolla to see the ocean, and the seals.
Jesse claps his forearms together and cries “Ar-ar-ar” all the time, although I don’t know that he was close enough to actually hear the animals when we watched them.

We went out for Thanksgiving dinner this year, with Jesse, and he acquitted himself nicely at Ruth’s Chris.

He ate bites off of our plates, and especially enjoyed the bread, lobster bisque, mashed potatoes and cheesecake.

We took Jesse to Latifah at Hair Cuttery for his first haircut while Grandma Michelle was visiting, and he was very well-behaved in the chair. He wasn’t even fazed by the razor.

Jesse graduated from slices to monkey-like, fist-size portions.

I dug out a fleece snowsuit and brought it to swim class, where I zipped up Jesse after his post-lesson shower.
I assume he was yelling with delight.
