Jesse spent the week at winter break camp! Sammy came along in Jesse’s backpack. While at camp this week, Jesse went on field trips to Dave & Buster’s, Climb Zone and Launch Trampoline Park, and had STEAM Day complete with a magic show and Cupcake Wars on Dec. 25. Today, Jesse took Sammy to Shabbat Extravaganza, where the campers will have a party and make Challah!

Sammy the Spider and Jesse on Winter break: Tot Shabbat

On Saturday, Dec. 22, Sammy and Jesse went to Tot Shabbat at TRS. They saw Rabbi Saxe and Ms. Hannah, who led the service. During the oneg, Jesse made two Challah covers!

Swimming at camp
Jesse’s a pretty proficient swimmer, at least in terms of staying afloat. He is fast too. I stopped by today’s swim lesson to see how he was doing.
The kindergartners were in various groups at the upper pool, and I think the club’s team was practicing in the pool below. Nice set up.

Jesse’s very excited about swimming in general.

They seemed to be trying to teach back stroke.
Photos from camp
The camp publishes hundreds, maybe ultimately thousands, of candid photos of campers on its site. I grabbed a few I could find of Jesse.
He loves all of the counselors. Look at the adoration.

Last week, Reptiles Alive! came to visit, and Jesse apparently touched a star of the show.
(Pam, don’t look at this last one.)

Where we got married
Jesse and I stopped at the Westfields Marriott on our way home from a party. (Yup, that’s the same window.) What most impressed him was the candy bar.

Garage (sale) band
We picked up a Paper Jamz guitar that Jesse really loves.

Jailbreak!
This video was taken approximately 12 hours after Jesse first escaped from the crib. In the morning, I had placed him in the crib while I showered. When I came in to get him dressed, he was standing on the floor, holding up whatever toy he had pined for from behind the bars. I dumped him back in, then watched as he made his way out
That night, when getting him ready for bed, I placed him in the crib, wondering what he’d do. I didn’t have the phone ready, so I placed him back inside after he scrambled out.
Way to stick the landing, kid.
The Snowy Day
Before Jesse went to school and I went to work, we bundled up for a trip outside to see the snow.

He was pretty annoyed at the start, I think.

Those snow pants and that parka came from the Spring-Mar Cooperative Preschool sale this fall, only $10!

Jesse was intrigued, and now refers to the snow he see on the ground as “playdough.”
