These three pictures represent the best of the 31 I took trying to get him to stand still and hold the sign so it’s readable.

What a difference!
So we went to apply for Jesse’s passport Tuesday, and the photos I brought were deemed the wrong composition.
We had new photos taken there, with me holding him in a standing position in front of the white screen.
The one on top was taken July 4, about two months ago, while the bottom was taken Tuesday. Where did that round face go?
Almost ready to eat his feet
Jesse gets increasingly frustrated because he’s dressed as a duck
He ain’t heavy, he’s my baby
Sittin’ pretty
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Jesse sat in the exersaucer at school for a few minutes — a first. So I decided it was time to set up the one I found on Craigslist.
I tried it out Thursday morning. Jesse seems to dig it.
It’s living next to his Pack’n’Play for now.
I wedged him in with a towel, just like at school.
His feet just reach the floor on tip-toe (it’s set to the lowest height).
I bet he’s going to enjoy all of the noise-making jungle animals. But right now, he mostly seemed surprised not to be lying down.
Self-serve
Goodbye, tiny clothes
Jesse goes to the doctor tomorrow, and I’m betting he clocks in at more than 10 pounds. He eats like Kobiashi, after all.
All that growing means he’s outgrowing clothes at an alarming rate. That’s OK, though — Betsy and Cathy graciously accepted my offer of hand-me-downs, like these cute blue and green Ninja jammies.
We’ll be holding on to one outfit, though: his little brown and blue monkey outfit. It was picked out by his Cousin Elaina and Aunt Amy long before Jesse was born.
It was what he wore on the way home from the hospital.
He also wore it a few days later for his bris (sans pants).
But it hasn’t fit for about two weeks. I washed it a final time and folded it away in his closet (I think there’s still a stain or two, but that’s OK).
Someday I’ll show it to him, and we’ll both marvel over how small he once was.
