Sittin’ pretty
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Jesse sat in the exersaucer at school for a few minutes — a first. So I decided it was time to set up the one I found on Craigslist.
I tried it out Thursday morning. Jesse seems to dig it.
It’s living next to his Pack’n’Play for now.
I wedged him in with a towel, just like at school.
His feet just reach the floor on tip-toe (it’s set to the lowest height).
I bet he’s going to enjoy all of the noise-making jungle animals. But right now, he mostly seemed surprised not to be lying down.
What’s that, you say?
Jesse spent some time babbling yesterday while sitting on the couch near Thunder.
He’s certainly opinionated.
He’s a side sleeper!
At four months or so, according to whattoexpect.com, babies can start to choose how they’d like to sleep.
Jesse seems to enjoy turning onto his left side.
To facilitate his new preference, he got to keep his arms out of his swaddle wrap last night. Other than waking at 4:30 starving, he didn’t seem to sleep any differently. (These shots are from his après-breakfast nap.)
Bad Mommy
So I checked my phone for a new photo of Jesse to put up, and I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t taken one in more than a week.
Instead, here’s a photo from May 9 of Jesse having a fit, as if he’s calling me out. Noted, Jesse. I’ll do better.

Dan made a special visit to day care this afternoon to see Jesse. So much for that.
(Mommy sees the photo of Jesse wearing a different outfit from his morning and wonders how big of a mess he was.)
At day’s end
As told to Mom, by Jesse:
Whatever were Mommy and Daddy worried about? I had a fine time!
They disturbed my nap in the awesome new swing!
I guess it was nice to see them. But seriously, I had a blast at day care!
I can’t wait for tomorrow!
First day of school
Today is Jesse’s first day going to day care (and Mommy’s first day back to work. Here’s Jesse buckled into the car to go to school.
We checked in with Miss Mahrukh.
Then we went into the infant room. Here’s Jesse’s crib.
Miss Lily introduced herself.
Miss JJ showed me how to fill out Jesse’s daily report while Jesse got to try a new bouncey seat.
I can’t wait to pick him up tonight!
Watching the game
Jesse stole Daddy’s spot on the couch. Go Yankees!
